There is little more to say about our time in Jakarta. We spent 2 nights at our usual hotel, the IBIS tamarin, and went for dinner at our usual sushi restaurant. We tried to go to the national museum, but it was shut, so instead we went to the mosque and cathedral in the centre of Jakarta, both famous landmarks I had seen but never been inside before, although I soon discovered I wasn't missing much.
B's brother drove us to the airport where we got on our flight to Singapore. At check in we decided the scales in HCMC must have been set wrong, as B's luggage was only 15kg and mine 18kg.
Again there is not much to say about our time in Singapore, we stayed in a cheap hotel, it wasn't our first choice, but the one we booked cancelled our booking, and this was offered as an alternative, so we couldn't be bothered to change it. We spent most of our time in chinatown, soaking up the pre-new year atmosphere and some of our time in a shopping mall, long enough to buy myself some suitable work shoes.
We are now back at Changi airport, awaiting our flight to Melbourne. This marks the end of our travels but the beginning of our next big adventure.
