It has been a week since I last posted anything on my blog, and this is mainly because I have nothing new to report. Time ticks on in its ceaseless fashion, and we are now pretty much in a state of waiting and anticipation. It is also 1 year to the day that I first started posting news about our emigration planning in the form of a blog.
After B's jackets not selling last week on ebay, we have re-posted them (but with a lower starting price). Our bed which we thought we had sold, but then they guy didn't show up is now going to go to my sister, and the desk that we posted on gumtree is (hopefully) going to one of B's customers from Green Park. A few other items have found their way to charity shops, so things are back on track. Next big thing to sort out will be the car. Anyone interested in a p-reg automatic ford fiesta?
It seems in these last days we are not only visiting lots of places we haven't been to, but we are also catching up with lots of people we haven't seen in a long time. As well as inviting everyone to our leaving party in November, we seem to have quite a busy social schedule leading up till then. A week ago I had a reunion with the people I used to work with at Frenchay, my mother is coming down this week with my sister, then next weekend we are driving to Maccelsfield to see my friend Kathryn. My friend Heather will then be down to say hello the following weekend. With so few days left to go before we move our free time is getting booked up fast.
We went for a run this morning, not too long, but enough to see that my foot seems to have made a full recovery and didn't give me any trouble at all. On the way back we passed a small cemetery in which we noticed a man and his daughter pointing at something. Our curiosity made us stop and look. It turned out to be a baby deer on its own in the cemetery. B made me call the RSPCA to check on it and make sure it was alright, after all there was no obvious way it could have got in, and we are in a pretty urban area, near lots of main roads, not a safe place for a young deer to be playing. We are waiting now to see if we hear the outcome.
