Everything must go...

....well nearly everything. We will be keeping some things, quite a lot of things, to ship to Australia. However everything we are willing to part with, or simply require to part with is going up for sale this Sunday as we have a house clearance sale.

Anyone who has been to our house before will realise, we have accumulated a lot of stuff over the years. Having lived in the same house for the last 10 years we are left with no real need to keep our possessions streamlined. It is now of critical importance that we off load as much as we can. Even if we could afford to ship it all, we wouldn't be able to afford to live somewhere big enough to take it.

We have tried selling items one at a time in drifts and drabs, using ebay, gumtree and local shop notice boards with very little success. I have no idea how well the sale will go, I have invited everyone on my facebook, and we have put signs up around town, but even if people show up there is no way to be sure they will want to buy anything.

It is a very mixed bunch of possessions, some large pieces of furniture such us wardrobes, tables, chairs, our sofa, dressing tables etc. some smaller items such as plates, vases, lamps and books. B is even considering selling some of our pictures, but only if the price is right.

B has spent the last few days getting the room ready, pricing items, organising displays and trying to fit all the furniture we want to sell into one room, like a giant game of tetris. He can now see him self working as a second hand furniture dealer, although with the prices he's charging he would go out of business (because they are too cheap, not the other way around).
