Count Down to Emigration...422 days.

One of the biggest jobs we are going to have to do before we move, is to minimise the amount of junk we have, so that we can fit it into a container for shipping to Australia.

So what can we get rid off?  After 9 years of living in the same house, B has accumulated an enormous amount of stuff and I can't say that my own accumulation of possessions is small.  We have made some steps to downsizing, like copying all our music onto an external hard drive, taking some items out to our house in Indonesia and giving old clothes to charity shops.  But the house is still bursting at the rafters (literally...I'm too scared to go into the loft).

B keeps talking about selling things on e-bay, but what are we actually willing to part with?  We will probably end up putting such a high reserve on everything we can't sell it anyway.  The furniture should be easier to offload down the market, but we obviously don't want to get rid of that too soon, or we'll be sleeping on the floor!

A lot of his ornaments and pictures came from Australia in the first place, so it seems only right to return them to their rightful home.

Then there are the things we can't take back even if we wanted to, such as all our plants and dear old Goldie our 9 year old fish.  And what about Fatso the cat?  Unfortunately she isn't ours, she just likes to visit us now and again, we will miss her all the same.

I sometimes get the feeling whatever we give/sell/throw away we will regret it at some point.  Still as long as we don't lose our photos we will always have our memories.
