At exactly 9am prompt this morning I was out the door and on my way to the post office on Moorland Road. By 9:08am my visa application was in the possession of her majesties postal service, on it's way to the Australian High Commission in London. Manila envelope, completed statutory declarations, certified copies of documents, passport photos, personal statements and all. Posting an envelope doesn't sound very exciting, but this has been the most exciting step in the emigration planning so far. It has taken a long time to collect all the pieces of evidence required to submit my visa application, and it has now finally all come together. The visa application could take up to 6 months to process so we should know one way or the other by August, seems a long time to wait.
