It was very similar but a lot simpler than my Australian visa application.
for example:
- Question 81 of my visa application needed to know ever country I had visited for the last 10 years. The British citizenship application only required a list of the last 3 years.
- All my documents needed to copied by a notary officer charging over £200 an hour. The citizenship supporting documents can be copied by our local council for an affordable £50, which also covers them checking the form has been completed correctly, and delivering it to the home office.
- The visa application required a total of 6 passport photos, 4 of me and 2 of B. The Citizenship application requires only 1 photo of B.
- My visa application needed to be supported by 2 statutory declarations written by Australian citizens. The references for the citizenship application don't even need to be British and just need to sign the form.
Hopefully we should be able to get this posted before we go on our next holiday.
