It is November the first. November....we fly in November....it is really happening, we really are going now. Well in 26 days, but that is no time at all.
We spent last weekend in South Wales with my father, two sisters and brother in law. It was not the best weather, but then what do you expect at the end of October. B's big idea behind the trip was to allow my father a final holiday with my sisters and me before we move, when such a reunion becomes much less likely. We spent a lot of time sitting in a pub to avoid the rain, but when we did brave it out we had a lovely time exploring St. Davids and the surrounding Pembrokeshire coastline. This was also the last big drive we are ever going to make in our car, we can now give it to Dan, the chef at B's work, who is going to inherit it. I'm going to be making the journey across the border again this weekend as I embark on my final RUH walking weekend.
We still haven't paid for our shipping yet as the revised invoice hasn't been sent. Hopefully they will send it this week so that we can pay and finalise all the details. I still need to finish the customs form, the man from Pickfords has managed to provide some help and advice on completing it, so it shouldn't be too hard now.
Our travel plans are almost complete, we just need to find something to do between the 26th to the 29th December whilst in Saigon. We also need to sort out our travel insurance. We have always got free travel insurance from B's bank account, but this will not cover us for trips exceeding 28 days, or when we loose our UK resident status. The only other travel concern is working out how much currency to order for each country.
It is not really much that we have left to do now, but it still seems like an epic task to get it all done in time, especially as we are both still working up until the week before we leave.
