The Bush

One of the real attractions for Hobart over Melbourne is the amount of natural beauty there still is.  Whereas Melbourne is ever expanding, growing upwards and outwards engulfing everything in its path, Hobart is caught between the natural barriers of Mount Wellington and the estuary of the River Derwent.  I was reading the Hobart City Council's website and have found many interesting facts.  For a start, over half of the municipal area of Hobart is bushland.
Hobart city council manages almost 3,000 hectares of bushland within the city boundaries

Although Mount Wellington may not be that impressive in height (a meagre 1270m peak) it still manages to get a fair bit of snow in winter, and offers (on a clear day) a view that stretches out to the Tasman peninsula.  With so much natural beauty to explore I do not understand how people can say there is nothing to do there!
